Synopsis

The essence of the land of Punjab, where I was born is part of my being. My appreciation for the people and my love for Punjabi language (my mother tongue) culminated in my desire to produce VIRSA under the banner of One World Entertainment.  The story revolves around the budding love affair of a young Punjabi couple living in Australia and how it is affected by the stresses and strains of the cultural conflict of three generations of two immigrant families.

It’s a story I can relate to, having moved from Punjab to America. We all face the challenges of keeping a balance between imparting our cultural heritage and traditions to our children and embracing the new customs of our adopted country. Virsa is a portrayal of these issues.

Virsa was produced with the state of the art technology by a highly skilled and dedicated production team. I was proud to see the devotion, commitment and excellent performance of all the cast and crew as well as impressive direction of Pankaj Batra. The completion of this movie is a fine example of team work of all concerned.

I sincerely thank everyone who participated in the successful completion of this wonderful film and hope the audience finds familiarity, comfort and laughter in this movie.
